Vacation

I encourage you vacationers (me included), to look for God’s handiwork in creation and keep a look out for Jesus, especially when something seems to go wrong such as botched reservations, car trouble, wrong turns, etc. Let yourself be astounded by the presence of Jesus. He is always found in the Word of God. Let those around you be astounded by His presence in you. “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom” (2 Corinthians 3:17).

March Madness

God’s passion is opening people’s eyes so they can know how to have a real relationship with Him. That’s a madness that transcends any basketball tournament. It’s an excitement that lasts for eternity. I’ve heard it said that they only two things on earth that will last forever are God’s Word and the human soul.

Let’s Be Magi

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. The magi give us such a good example of that fear. It’s a fear that caused them to read the Scriptures and seek for God’s direction. It’s a fear where they weren’t satisfied with just knowledge, but planned out their travel and life in order to honor the Lord.

To mask or not to mask; is that really a queston?

Grasping the Friendship

That is the kind of friendship Jesus is talking about. It’s a friendship that will even lay down His life for you and actually has. You can fail, but He still wants to be with you. In fact, He wants you to experience the richness and joy of life with Him. He wants to direct you to life’s greatest meaning; to life’s deepest and most abiding happiness.

He is your friend. Use this summer time to get to know Him more. Go for friendship walks with Jesus. Look for the beauty of His creation. Let His Word dwell in you. Let His presence set your life ablaze. The glory of His light will bless you.

A Christian Response to Governmental Restriction

Without a doubt, COVID-19 has disrupted life all over the world and demands special attention and unusual response. Every facet of our way of life has had to adjust from the way we do business, buy supplies, worship, educate, recreate, etc. Someone has said that desperate situations call for desperate measures.

But how should a Christian respond when the government restricts churches from meeting publicly for worship? Do we ignore or rebel against such a restriction? Do we just accept it? Sometimes it gets complicated.

with Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is on its way. It’s hard to believe that time of year is already here. However, I would argue that if thanksgiving is only on its way, we must be missing something. The above verses talk about rejoicing always and continually praying with thanksgiving no matter what’s going on.
