Core Doctrines

The bible

We believe and confess that the Bible is the authentic and infallible source of God’s revelation to us and all men, and that it is the inerrant and completely adequate source and norm of Christian doctrine and life. We hold that the Bible, as a whole and in all its parts, is the word of God in all circumstances regardless of man’s attitude toward it.

the confessions

We accept and adhere to the Apostolic and the Nicene Creeds, and in addition thereto, the Unaltered Augsburg confession and Luther’s Small Catechism. We seek to follow these confessions in all areas of preaching and teaching.

The trinity

We believe that the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God. There are not three god’s, but one Triune God.

Salvation

We believe that all are in the Kingdom of God who believe in Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior and are baptized in His Name.

Marriage

We believe and uphold what the Bible affirms,  that marriage is a covenant between one naturally born man and one naturally born woman (Genesis 2:18-23; Matthew 19:4-6). According to the Bible, God loves all people (John 3:16) but also condemns same-sex relationships as being contrary to His will (e.g., Romans 1:18-23; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; 1 Timothy 1:8-11).

Mission Statement

Christ the King Free Lutheran Church is a fellowship of believers under the Lordship of God Almighty: our purpose being to glorify God.

We are dedicated to fulfilling the Great Commission by proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all people, establishing them in the faith, bringing them into our fellowship, and joining together in worship. We then desire to help people identify and use their spiritual gifts by making disciples of others. We will go about this by encouraging small group discipleship studies, supporting and promoting youth ministry, and emphasizing home and world missions. We also promote families, as intended by God, to be the basic teaching unit, and encourage spiritual leadership through family devotions. We must set the example to motivate our children so that their desire is to walk with Jesus. We desire Christians to discover and to live out what God has planned for their lives, believing that knowledge without a transformed life is worthless.
